New Public Art Sculpture at Kaiser Permanente

Here it is! Installed late September in the Kaiser Permanente Emergency Waiting Room in Santa Rosa, in the new building across from the parking garage on Bicentennial.  It was a VERY busy summer creating this sculpture quickly, and designed to be indestructible by hoards of children.  There is a very heavy durable steel frame creating every curve and surface of this piece, underneath the resin.  Its super-durable, yet the exterior surface is friendlier than steel - resin is softer, and with the bright colors is inviting for children to play with it.  It's really a joy to have created a piece with children in mind.
Kauila is named after the Hawaiian Sea Turtle Goddess, who is the protector of children.
